University of Kelaniya

       


           There are a lot of University in Sri Lanka.University of Kelaniya is very famous University.It has long History.In 1875, the Vidtalakaraka Pirivena was established in the Kelaniya Paliyagoda area by the Ven. Rathmalane  Sri Darmaloka Tero.After In 1959, the Vidyalankara Privena became a Vidyalankara University.The Ven. Kirithuduwe Sri Pannasara Thero was appointed as the first Voice Chancellor of the University at that time.Since 1966 There was only male undergraduates.
 After female undergraduetes came in university.In 1967 Science Faculty was started in Vidyalankara University.After In 1972 VidyalankaraUniversity became Vidyalankara Mandapaya and it is moved from Paliyagoda to Dalugama in 1975.In 1978 the Vidyakankara Mandapaya renamed as University of Kelaniya.

      Paliyagoda Vidyalankara Parawenaipathi, Thripitaka Vagishvaracharya, Mahopadyaya, Panditha, the most Venarable Welamitiyawe  Dharmakirthi Sri Kusala Dhamma  Thero is chancellor  and Prof. D.M. Semasinghe is Vice chancellor in the present.As well as Senior Prof. Lakshman Senavirathne is  Deputy Vice-Chancellor in the
present..
       By the year 1959, the University consicted five faculties such as Languages,Buddhist Studies,Arts,Science,Philosophy and Research.But Today University have
seven faculties. They are

                        Medicine
                        Science
                        Social science
As well as University have 45 Department.They are

Egg Cover Game                        we had GNCT lecture on last Thursday and we done the two games that day.one game is Egg cover game among these game .Egg cover Game is a nice game and funny game. As well as that is creativity, planning and teamwork. we want  egg ,paper and sellotape for one team. we bring the egg and other thing supply by our lecture.                         first our class divided the five group and one egg ,four paper, and  one sellotape are given the one group. There are 6 members in one group and three girls and three boys in my group, As well as This game is playing during the time. Our lecture gave the 30 minute for  one team.
